I was brought into this project to create two of the four concepts pitched to the client. The pitch included two logos, a color scheme, and digital and print brand applications.

Newport Harbor Island Resort is a luxury nautical resort with a strong, prevalent sailing community, located on Goat Island, Rhode Island. The rebrand aimed to differentiate the resort from surrounding businesses’ traditional approaches. The resort saw this as an opportunity to launch confidently into the modern era, while maintaining a timeless sensibility.

This concept centers around a letter mark inspired by nautical ropes. The different states of the primary logo and letter mark provide dynamic contrast, resembling unwinding, and symbolizing NHIR’s commitment to meeting guests where they are, embracing the process of decompressing on vacation.
